Intro: Bm E G Asus2 x2
Verse 1:
Bm E G
Blowing trash in bitter wind,
Asus2 Bm
zip my sweatshirt to the top

Shoulders high and hands are hid,
Asus2 Bm
in pockets not quite adequate
E G
Sidewalk take me to the fire,
Asus2 Bm
that will melt my frozen soul
E G
Please don't let me stay this way,
Asus2
I'm so cold and all alone
Chorus:
Bm
Glass and steel cut through the wind
a lake storm sent this way
G
Dividing up the avenues,
Asus2
I walk to give away the blues,
D C#m Asus2 Bm
and take the day away

Bm E G
Walking quickly through the rain,

I make no contact with my eyes

I weave through coats that hang on men,
Asus2 Bm
she in nowhere in my sight

People stand in corner crowds,
Asus2 Bm
with eyes that point down to their wrists,
E G
Wishing they were warm inside,
Asus2 Bm
as they breathe into their fists
Chorus:
Bm
Glass and steel cut through the wind
a lake storm sent this way
G
Dividing up the avenues,
Asus2
I walk to give away the blues,
D C#m Asus2 Bm
and take the day away
I am pretty sure that this is right. I don't know if the D and C#m chords are entirely
correct, but the bass note of the chords are D and C#. The 0 on the e string is kinda
hard to hear on the cd, but if you slow down the song, you'll hear that it is there.
